# Responsible use and adult consent

English policy edition. The main guide is available in Spanish.

This page applies to the editorial publication Spinfood. It concerns reading this website and following its links. It does not replace the policies of a generator, payment provider or review publication that you visit separately.

## The scope of the publication

Coverage concerns fictional adult characters and projects involving adults who explicitly agree to the planned use of their likeness. It excludes sexual content involving anyone under eighteen and the creation or distribution of intimate representations without permission. We do not provide a generator or accept files. A visitor should not interpret a general article about image tools as permission to process another person’s photograph.

## Make permission specific

An agreement should cover the transformation, the intended audience and the way the result will be shared. Consent to be photographed is different from agreement to a synthetic transformation. Consent to private use is different from agreement to public distribution. Check those points before processing material and keep a record outside the generator. Owning a copy of a photograph, finding it online or paying for a tool does not settle those questions.

## Describe synthetic work honestly

A generated image or clip is a synthetic result. It does not establish what a person looks like outside the supplied image or what an event actually contained. Avoid presenting a generated scene as documentary evidence. Consider whether a reasonable viewer could mistake the result for an authentic recording, and describe the work clearly when that risk exists. A fictional character also should not be presented as a real person’s private image or attached to their identity as a deceptive claim.

## Consider the whole workflow

Read the provider’s file-handling terms before supplying material. Check retention and model-training statements separately from the ability to delete a visible gallery item. Restrict access to reference files and permissions. Remove information that the project does not require. A service’s request that customers obtain consent is a stated rule; it is not independent proof that every upload has been authorized or that a particular safeguard was technically enforced.

## If something is wrong

Use the host or platform’s reporting mechanism for material published there. Keep the page address and relevant timestamps without redistributing the image. [StopNCII](https://stopncii.org/) describes its eligibility and the way participating companies can use hashes; it is not a universal removal guarantee. The [EDPB directory](https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/our-members_en) identifies European data protection authorities. Our [contact page](/contact/) explains the reporting limitations of this publication. In an urgent situation, use the appropriate local emergency or official reporting channel rather than waiting for an editorial page to change.
